You found one by David Weisner that I have not seen before. I will definitely have to check out Free Fall. I love Barbara Lehman's Red Book, so I will also have to add Rainstorm to my list. It looks like the same character from the Red Book looking out the window on the cover. I wonder if it is supposed to connect or if that is just how she illustrates all her human characters. Any clue in the book that it is part of a larger story?
ReplyDeleteAll these wordless picture books sound amazing! There is so much you can do with them in the classroom to promote literacy and not just in the early grades. Maybe I'll have to check some of these to use with my middle school students next summer for a writing activity! I think they would love Free Fall.
ReplyDeleteRainstorm sounds extremely interesting to me and really made me want to read it. I feel like that with the wordless picture books there are a few common themes and new worlds or lands seems to be a very popular one. Those are very interesting to me because of how much it relies on imagination and I think that would be very beneficial to children so they can create their own story with this new, made up world.
